Public playgrounds in the Orihuela municipality will remain closed at least until March 14, despite the current relief of health measures introduced to combat Covid-19.

This restriction will not affect parks and green areas in general, but only children’s playgrounds.

The councillor in charge of the Park and Gardens service, Angel Noguera, justified his decision despite the fact that the number of people affected by the pandemic is declining in Orihuela, saying that, “we cannot let our guard down and allow all this effort to be thrown away if playgrounds become places of influx for people of all ages, including elderly people, who interact in a very small public space”.

The councillor believes that waiting until the third week of March is not a great sacrifice which is when he suggests that they could reopen.
