Diana Lloyd Memorial Shield

In another hard fought battle, the semi-finals saw Primadonnas face Friendly Temps and Gap Ladies face The Dolly Mixtures.  Primadonnas were all in fine form and stormed to a 5-0 victory (best of 9) and put their feet up whilst they awaited the outcome of the other match to see who they would face in the finals.

Gap ladies managed to meet them with a 5-2 victory under their belt with some great darts thrown by their Dolly Mixture opponents. In the finals, played across 3 boards – 3 pairs, 3 singles, 3 singles – first to 5), the Gap Ladies won all 3 pairs games to give them a 3-0 lead. The Primadonnas were having none of that and took two singles in the next round courtesy of Mitch Halliday and Beaty Powell.

Bliss Wright managed a 180 but alas didn’t win her game but teammate Cynthia Jevons got hers to take the Gap to a 4-2 lead going into the final 3 singles, played simultaneously. Gap Lady Simone de Lacy was the quickest to the finish of the 3 pairs, beating Karen Millar 2-0 to put the final nail in the coffin to make it a 5:2 victory for the Ladies in Red.

Thanks to everyone who came to lend their support, to Primadonnas and Black Dog ladies for the raffle prizes and to our lovely chalker chappies Ern, Stan and Nigel and all the ladies who volunteered too.

It was a great night to end this season on and we all send our love to Geoff Lloyd who we hope to see in October.
