Racing San Miguel suffered a thumping 4-1 away defeat at AC Torrellano in the Valencia 1st Regional Group 8 promotion race – in a controversial game – with fingers pointed to referee’s dubious decisions.

Torrellano’s win (53 points) nudges them ahead of Racing (52 points) into second spot, below leaders CD Murada (54 points) who travel to Monovar on Sunday.

CD Altet continue to pull away from the depths of the table – having sat bottom heading into the new year – with a 2-1 win against Callosa.

San Fulgencio defeated Santa Pola CF 2-1, with Hondon Nieves remaining in the top four after a 5-1 away victory at bottom club Monforte.

CD Montesinos gained a much needed victory – in an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of Betis Florida – to ease relegation worries, it being coach Ruben’s biggest win since taking charge.

Bahia Santa Pola host CF Rafal, and Atletico Catral entertain CD Dolores on Sunday.
