San Miguel back in race for promotion

Racing San Miguel got back in the hunt for the race for promotion in the Valencia 1st Regional Group 8 after a 1-0 win against Santa Pola, thanks to a goal by Mathias.

Racing’s win on Sunday narrows the gap at the top of the table to just two points behind leaders CD Murada who defeated CD Altet 4-0.

At the lower echelons of the table CF Rafal won a thrilling 11 goal encounter 6-5 against Monovar CD.

Rafal’s win saw them leap frog above CD Montesinos – who only managed a share of the points in a 1-1 draw against CD Dolores.

CD Montesinos striker Vazquinho was on hand to net after a cross by Carlos Lorente to give the visitors a 1-0 half time lead.

CD Dolores – who missed a plethora of chances to win the game – stunned Montesinos with a late goal to take a share of the points.

Torrellano gained a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at Santa Pola CF to remain amongst the leaders. Callosa Deportivo B defeated Monforte CF 4-1, Betis Florida suffered a 3-2 defeat against Sporting San Fulgencio, with Hondon Nieves gaining a 3-2 win against Atletico Catral.
