At Saturday’s Chelmsford evening meeting The Leader’s tip Nubough was the day’s eighth winning selection with each way tip Highwayman placed.

Charlie Hills trained Nubough (5.45) ridden by Richard Kingscote, gained a 3 1/2 length success when beating Vrai.

John Egan rode Highwayman (8.15) into a place in the Black Notley Handicap over 1 mile 2 furlongs, returning at 7-1, having touched 8-1.

Stamford Raffles (6.15) went down a neck in a photo finish, finishing second at 6-1. Wiff Waff (6.45) ran third at 6-1, with White Turf (7.45) finishing second at 11-4.
