CD Montesinos 1 – 1 CD Dolores

Team:- Carlos, Fernando, Manu, Alex, Morante, Omar, Macca, Liam, Diego, Vazquinho, Daniel. Sub’s:- Steven,  German, Dimitry, Dario, Alfredo. CDM Goal:- Vazquinho

CD Montesinos came into this game hoping to get their first win from the last since the first two matches of the campaign, a run of six matches without a win, although they did manage a draw the previous weekend away at Hondon. However, despite taking a first half lead with a wonder goal from habitual top scorer Vazquinho, they were unable to hold the lead and had to settle for a draw, which does nothing for either side in terms of their poor league positions.

The 248 supporters in the crowd were treated to an early wonder strike from top striker Vazquinho. The diminutive Brazilian picked up the ball 30 yards out after just five minutes of the game, and thumped his effort over the Dolores keeper to give the home side the lead. Unfortunately, although there was lots of effort from both sides, it was Dolores who were awarded a dubious looking penalty after 23 minutes, which even the Dolores players could not understand and from which they equalised.

The second half was more of the same. Lots of effort, a few close shaves and goal line clearances as well as some excellent goalkeeping, especially from Carlos in the CD Montesinos goal, meant that the game fizzled out without any further goals.

The draw leaves Dolores in 14th position – in the relegation places – with 8 points and CD Montesinos, who also have 8 points, one place above them in 13th place. It is almost imperative that Montesinos manage to get something from this week´s away match at AD Betis (Alicante) who are two places and one point below Montesinos.

The Club are also looking at a couple of new players in an effort to strengthen the side and that could happen in the next week or so.

Next match we are away in Alicante against AD Betis. This is a real “six-pointer” for both teams as Betis are two places below us in the league table. At this time, Betis have not confirmed date or time of kick-off but as soon as these details are available, we will inform all our members by e-mail and on our facebook page.

Vamos Monte!!!
