Looking across the salt lakes to Torrevieja

The former Spanish Prime MInister, Mariano Rajoy, says he is just an ordinary fella who just wants to get back to some sense of normality as he takes up his new civil service post in Santa Pola next week. Me thinks that the constant harassment by both the public and by the press, his six bodyguards and chauffeured car, might not quite allow that to happen. But nevertheless, welcome to the Costa Blanca Mr Rajoy.

We still have no news on the Orihuela Costa about the beach bars with both the councillor for contracts and for the beaches keeping a low profile. But at least the tourist office is open once again as Sofia Alvarez dug in her heels! All this and much more in edition 722 of the Leader.
