The third edition of Quality Gastronomic Competition will take place on the Orihuela Costa next month. Six local restaurants will take part, all of which are recipients of the SICTED ‘Quality Management Accolade’.

The competition launch was announced last week by the Orihuela Councillor for Tourism, Sofía Álvarez, together with Matilde Medina, manager of the Hotel Montepiedra and representative of the participating restaurants and establishments.

Each of the restaurants will offer a special menu throughout the week, at a cost of 35 euros, in which they will each use only locally sourced ingredients.

Álvarez said “These are some of the very best restaurants on the Orihuela Costa. They will be preparing and serving the very best food from the very best ingredients with which they will showcase high quality speciality dishes”.

“We have a commitment in Orihuela to maintain our position as a quality tourist destination  this event will help us to do particularly in the area of food, wine and gastronomic tourism in particular”.

The event will get underway at Restaurant Zenia Lounge on 12 June, before moving to Restaurant La Barraca (13 June) where Spanish brewery Estrella de Levante will present their new VERNA beer, Restaurant Los Angeles (14 June), Restaurant Las Villas (15 June), Restaurant Montepiedra Hotel (16 June) and Los Cúcalos Restaurant (17 June).
