The Association of the 3rd Age, ‘Club Macenas Mojácar’, held their Spring Luncheon at the Hotel el Puntazo on Sunday 8th April. Around 140 members enjoyed a full buffet followed by music and hours of dancing. There was also a chance to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to possibly the most ‘senior’ member at 93, Edna Thirlaway.

The Club has members of almost a dozen nationalities and, is open to any senior who is sixty years of age and, is on the Mojácar Padrón (although a younger partner is also eligible to join). An annual subscription of 12 euros is payable per person and with the financial subsidies from Mojácar Council, the Club offers many benefits such as free recreational and fitness activities, social evenings with live music as well as discounted dinner dances, trips and holidays.

If you are eligible and wish to join, take your padrón and personal details to their office which is in the basement of the Centro de Usos Multiples in Mojácar Pueblo during office hours which are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
