Daya Nueva 0 v. San Fulgencio 1

As early as the second minute Jaime in the Daya goal was pressed into action making a good save.

It was all Fulgencio but on eleven minutes from a good move Daya forced their visitors’ defence into the sort of cock up that they themselves are usually guilty of, this almost led to an own goal !

Daya began to get more involved but the visitors carried the greater goal threat.  On twenty minutes a good Daya attack saw Rocamora put in a great cross that Braulio could not quite control.  The visitors laid siege to Daya’s penalty area for five or six minutes and it was a mad scramble by Daya to clear their lines.

The home side were now living dangerously and their opponents were guilty of many many bad misses and Jaime making many good saves.   With half time approaching Braulio had a half chance for Daya but chances for Daya were few and far between.  Fulgencio did have the ball in the net on forty four minutes but the goal was ruled out for hand ball.  So 0-0 at the break with Fulgencio being the better side.  The second period saw the home side raise their game and from a free kick on fifty minutes Daya caused panic in the visitors penalty area but the ball was eventually cleared.

Moments later Fulgencio had a great effort pushed onto the bar by Jaime and away to safety.  From a Braulio free kick on sixty eight minutes Daya had the ball in the visitors net but the goal was not given as the referee had not blown for the kick to be taken !   On seventy minutes another good save by Jaime kept the score are 0-0, then moments later Fulgencio blasted  another good chance wide.

Daya’s Braulio was given his marching orders shortly after for a second yellow card.  It was not too long before Fulgencio were down to ten men themselves.  The game had become a scrappy affair by now and Daya saw red again on seventy eight minutes when Jonhy joined Braulio for an early shower.

On eighty two minutes the visitors scored the goal that won them the game, it came from a good cross that was buried by a great header that gave Jaime no chance.  It had been a much better half for Daya but losing two men to red cards certainly did not help their cause.  The referee did not have the best of games with many of his decisions questionable.
