The Torrevieja Sevillanas Fair will be held in the port area of the city from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th October and will have 29 different stands.

In presenting the event to the media last week Domingo Pérez, Councillor of Fiestas, was joined by Rosa Martínez, President of the Casa de Andalucía Rafael Alberti, an organisation that has helped with the organisation of the event.

Pérez urged all residents and visitors to go along and enjoy the event that this year there will have 29 different exhibition tents and stands, one more than last year, many of which are already set up on the fairground site.

The councillor thanked local academies and the Union Musical Torrevejense for their contributions as he also announced invitations to nearby local authorities because of the enormous impact that the event has in Vega Baja.

The fair will start on Wednesday, October 11th at 8.30pm with the traditional light show and music featuring the singer Rosa María Luján.

One of the new events at the fair, which will be held on the Thursday morning will be dedicated children, with painting, games, balloons and youth workshops. There will also be dance groups and choral performances.

In addition, there will also be an ‘open mike’ where organisers will offer opportunities to many local entertainers and artists who “also deserve to have their moment of glory,” said Martínez.

There will be sevillanas dancing and tapas available in all marquees all through the fair although activities will increase during the evenings.

During all fair days, you can enjoy dancing sevillanas and eating in the huts on uninterrupted schedule.

All days the fair will be held you will be able to enjoy non-stop sevillanas and eat at its marquees. Prizes will be awarded for the best stands on Saturday while on Sunday the climax of the fair will include the paseíllo, a spectacle on horseback and the final of the sevillanas competition.
