Rehearsals are going well for Stagestruck’s next show to be presented at the Cardenal Belluga Theatre in San Fulgencio on the 11th, 12th and 13th May.  ‘Carry on Pompeii’ is an adult musical comedy set in Ancient Pompeii and features a host of comical characters.

The show opens in the home of Senator Pius Maximus, an amazing backdrop designed and created by Joe Luker who plays Centurion Sextus Magnus.  The scenery is offset by incredible props designed and built by Don Payen.

The show focuses on Grovello, head slave to the Senator played by Alan Appleton and his fruitless attempts to buy his freedom.  The Senator and his wife, Lamenta are played by Stagestruck favourites, Jim and Jean Speakman and Blanca Helena Sierra plays their daughter, Virginia.

The cast of 25 will take the audience through two days in Pompeii and will share love, disappointment and bags of laughs.  As well as comedy, the audience will be treated to song and dance, so there really is something for everyone.

Tickets are 7 euros each and includes a free drink on arrival.  Proceeds from ticket sales go to local charities and we donate an average amount of 4000 euros from each show.   Our main beneficiary is the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association but  other local charities also  receive a donation.

Tickets are on sale at the Card Place, Benimar, Cards and more, La Marina, the Post Room, Benijofar, The Post Box, Dona Pepa, Quesada, Marabu Lounge, Quesada, Kennedys Supermarket, Los Montesinos and Ray’s Laundry, La Marina.  Alternatively call Leigh on 679679584 or Jenny on 608129983 or email leigh.humphries58@gmail.com or jendexbaz78@yahoo.com.
