Derby disappointment as Elche tumble

Yet another away defeat for Elche, this time at the hand of local rivals Murcia, leaves them still dangerously close to the relegation zone. Fortunately for them most of the teams around them in the table also lost. They managed to hold out for 62 minutes before Richi grabbed the only goal of the game for the home team.

The lack of firepower up front since the departure of Frankowski was once again evident and they were unable to get themselves back into the game. Next Saturday's home tie against another mid-table side, Albacete, kicks off at 6.30 p.m. A win is essential for Elche before panic sets in and they find themselves in real trouble.
