Following information received from the Torry Army The Leader joins with them in expressing their condolences to the family of FC Torrevieja Youth Team player Manuel Aniorte. Fifteen year old Manuel was the son of the Reserve Team delegate and had a promising future with the club. He was seriously injured when his motorcycle was hit by a car as he travelled to the Torrevieja game against Espanyol on Sunday afternoon. Sadly, Manuel passed away on Monday morning having been in a coma since the accident.
As a mark of respect the Charity Game scheduled to take place on Boxing Day will not now go ahead. It will be rescheduled for the New Year when it will be played in memory of Manuel.
I am sure that football supporters across the entire region will join with the Torry Army and ourselves in offering our sincere condolences to Manuel's family.
