Mazarron FC 2 Nuestro Abaran CF 2
Mazarron came storming back to earn a point after going two goals down. Abaran bossed the early stages although Panocha had a point blank header from 5 metres well saved by the Abaran keeper on 6 minutes.
A minute later Abaran took the lead when, following good work down the left, Emilio’s well hit shot was deflected past Ikea in the Mazarron goal. Abraran continued to attack and Mazarron’s only other chances in the first half both fell to Jose Ruben, firstly when his effort was cleared off the line and then on 39 minutes when he raced clear only to shoot tamely at the Abaran keeper.
Abaran obviously recognised Ruben’s threat as he was pushed, kicked and elbowed by their centre half at every opportunity during the first half.
Abaran increased their lead three minutes into the second half when a close range shot was well saved by Iker but the Mazarron keeperwas helpless when Nicolas hammered home the rebound. Jose Ruben was booked in the 49th minute when he retaliated to further rough treatment as Mazarron began to get on top.
In the 57th minute the home team pulled a goal back when Barrachina scored from close range. Mazarron were now playing some good football which saw Barrachina shoot wide and a header from Ruben saved by the Abaran keeper. Mazarron had another good chance on 75 minutes when, following a corner, around 16 players were involved in a free for all in the Abaran penalty area but the ball was eventually cleared.
Shortly afterwards, substitute Pollo was felled in the area but the Referee turned down the appeals for a penalty. The Referee was beginning to lose the plot by now and denied Mazarron several blatant free kicks and another penalty appeal. However, in the 86th minute, Mazarron levelled the scores when excellent work by Ruben, who took on four Abaran defenders, saw Barrachina’s goal bound shot being turned home by Cecilio.
Mazarron’s keeper Iker was booked for no apparent reason and the game ended in uproar when Jose Ruben was felled in the penalty area by the Abaran centre half, who appeared to kick Ruben in the face, after the ball had been cleared. The incident was spotted by the linesman and the Abaran defender shown a red card but, amazingly, no penalty was awarded.
