ARENAL BEACH INAUGURATES NEW TOURIST INFORMATION KIOSK

The Town Hall programmes musical performances every Wednesday to liven up the area
Javea. Thursday, 5th July 2012. The Arenal promenade in Javea boasts a new tourist information kiosk as of this week. The new kiosk will be open every day in July and August from 10.00am to 2.00pm and 5.00 to 9.00pm, including Sundays.
The uniquely designed office, located at the northern end of the promenade (beside the Canal de la Fontana and the Red Cross station), addresses to the age-old demands of the Arenal Beach business community and will serve to respond to the queries of the hundreds of beach lovers and visitors that flock to this area every day.
This office will replace the one in Avda.del Pla during the summer, serving as the third tourist information point in the municipality, along with the one in Plaza Admiral Bastarrech in the Port and Plaza de la Iglesia in the Old Town.
The information kiosk was inaugurated yesterday by the coordinator of the Tourist Info network in the province of Alicante, Angel Murcia, Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Miragall, and the Mayor, José Chulvi, who were accompanied by numerous Town Hall councillors and representatives from the business and hospitality sector associations.
After this opening, the delegation proceeded to the middle of the promenade to hoist the blue flag that certifies the quality of the water and the services of this beach, in addition to the blue flags obtained by the Granadella and la Grava beaches. These services include lifeguards, a handicapped bathing zone, showers, a children's play area, an outdoor green gym circuit for adults and other infrastructure.
The inauguration of the information kiosk was also saw the première of the new animation activity the Tourism Department, headed by Antonio Miragall, has planned for each Wednesday of this summer entitled "L'Arenal t'anima". This series of live music performances, together with outdoor cinema on the beach, provide an added attraction to the Arenal. Yesterday the Grup de Danses Portitxol danced in various points of the promenade, performing traditional dances from Javea such as “ball de vetes” or “la dansà de la marina”.
Next Wednesday at 9.00pm the charanga "Amb un Parell of bemols" will fill the promenade with their lively music, while Xirimitab's will play on Wednesday July 24 and August 8. In addition, outdoor family cinema is is scheduled on the beach every Tuesday evening at 10.00pm.
