By Kevin Reardon / 2012-07-01 17:10:46

The centre will be the largest of its kind in the Alicante region

Zenia Boulevard, on target to become the largest shopping centre in the Alicante Province, is set to be inaugurated on 25 September. It will open its doors to the general public on the following day. Creating in excess of 1,800 direct jobs the centre investment will exceed 200 million euros.

In  confirming that 96% capacity has already been filled, Valentín Serrano, General Manager of Immochan España, S.A. said the centre would accommodate popular national, international and local brands such as the hypermarket Alcampo, which will also include a petrol station, Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, Norauto, Conforama, Casino del Mediterráneo, Tenpin Bowling, Primark, Inditex with Zara and their other trademarks, H&M, C&A, Deichmann, Guess, Geox, Swarovski, Punto Roma, Muerde la Pasta , Kiko, Druni, Marvimundo, Baby Center, and many others.

Alcampo will also have an on-line sales service with the same prices as in the supermarket itself. It also offers a home delivery service or the possibility to pick it up at the hyper, where Alcampo staff will load and pack your shopping into your car in 5 minutes.

The Boulevard has an area of 161,000 sq. meters and a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of 80,000 m2 that makes it the largest shopping and leisure centre in the province of Alicante.

The implementation of this modern centre represents the company’s commitment to the future of the Valencian Community. In terms of employment the centre has been responsible for generating rather more than the 1,800 direct jobs that we will see on opening. There have also been over 1,000 other employees working on its construction in addition to which there will be a large number of jobs created through indirect employment generated by those ancillary company’s supplying it with products and services

The mall, has excellent visibility from the AP-7 motorway and easy access thanks to the improvements made to local roads, has already sold the 96% of iits capacity and will house 150 stores, 90% of which will be distributed on one floor, making it comfortable and easy to visit. It will also provide 5,000 free parking places, half of them of which will be underground.

"But the greatest wealth is inside” says Valentín Serrano, “Zenia Boulevard is conceived not only as a shopping centre, it’s also a meeting point, a leisure space, a life space, where our clients will live unique experiences”.

“We want it to surprise its customers with special, fun and educational events: performances, shows, contests, local events etc. an amazing mix of opportunities to connect, to learn and discover” he said.

Committed to the Environment the new Immochan centre has very ambitious aims in terms of sustainability and as well as a commitment to the environment.

It will implement a Zero Discharge system for the total segregation and recovery of waste, in order to obtain the highest assessment and the least amount of waste possible.

Waste will be managed and treated from the source: Commercial Solid Waste, cardboard, glass, wood, iron, hazardous waste, hangers, etc.

The centre will also be equipped with a composting machine to generate compost that will be reused on landscaped areas.

According to its sustainability policy, Immochan España S.A. is also working to obtain the environmental certification ISO 14001, the ISO 9001 quality and OHSAS 18001 Occupation Health and Safety.

The centre will be equipped with LED lighting in the underground and surface parking as well as in other areas. It also will have a metering system for saving energy.

Immochan is the real estate company of the Auchan Holding. It operates in 12 countries, with 320 shopping centres and almost 2 million sq. Meters (hypermarkets not included). In Spain the company manages 30 shopping centres, 29 are their own.

Cant wait to visit the new shopping centre (will have to wait til next July) we saw this being built, love the whole area, although it did need sprucing up a little, this is a fab addition to a wonderful area of Spain, and just round the corner from our accommodation! Bonus .....

Thank goodness for a decent shopping centre in the Alicante region. We were really pleasantly surprised at the attention to detail in the way it's set out. Even the parking is really easy, and plenty of it. Well done to everyone involved in it's creation. We will definately be regulars!

Nice looking inside with touches of English high streets, it has a London square with old red telepnone boxes.Lots of the advertising is in English. But Al campo is just so huge its over whelming,I tried to shop with my son and daughter in law and ended up just buy a few bits and not the whole weeks worth that we were supposed to be getting. There are just rows and rows and rows of counters and freezers, you just dont know where to look.
The main problem is the absolute chaos on the entrance and exit, you would think that most of the drivers had never taken a driving test.It was so dangerous on the opening week, there were cars everywhere.
There was some nice shops though, hopefully things will get better.
Does anyone know the price of fuel there.

One word - Fabulous. Love it. Good luck and congratulations to all involved - you have done yourselves proud. It will be a huge success and is a great boost for the area with the creation of employment. Can anyone tell me if there is a pedestrian bridge from Villamartin side of the AP7 to this shopping centre? I have been looking ofr a phot on the internet and news but I do not know if it was actually built. If it has is it next to the exisitng road bridge?

peter dunne 27-09-2012 / 17:58

Love the area really pleasant to be in Only complaint so far today thursday noticed people were bringing dogs into shopping area as we know from the sidewalks not all owners cleanup after their dogs

Lyn Organ 26-09-2012 / 12:24

Enjoyed a nice walk to the centre with my little dog, only to be refused admission by security staff !!!! No signs and no notices that dogs were not allowed. Dog lovers beware. At least I arrived home with a full wallet.......

Andy Voaden 25-09-2012 / 23:33
