A BUSY EASTER FOR THE R.B.L

The Orihuela Costa and District Branch of The Royal British Legion had a busy Easter weekend.
On Easter Sunday they were invited to attend the Help for Hero´s fun day at Rays Bar in Campoverde. The branch were selling books in aid of the 2012 Poppy Appeal.
On Easter Monday the branch were at Rockys Arena in Playa Flamenca where another fun day took place in aid of Reach Out Torrevieja who give support to the homeless.
The purpose of the our attendance was to promote the work of the Legion, recruitment of new members and to raise money towards the 2012 Poppy Appeal. All of which I am pleased to say went very well.
Keith Carter the Branch Chairman said he would like to thank all the people who took part and donated towards the Poppy Appeal and the other two charities. Also to all of the members who gave up their time to help out on the stand.
Keith added that he hoped to see as many new members at the next meeting on 19 April who showed an interest in joining the branch.
The Orihuela Costa and District Branch met at The Olympia Restaurant Mil Palmeras every 3rd Thursday of the month, 7 for 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and join. You DO NOT have to be ex service to do so. For more information visit our web site.
