On Monday, the Klingons were at home to La Siesta Apollos and had an excellent result, winning on 4 rinks and gaining the overall shots. They won 10 points, 106 shots to 4 points, 83 shots.
Congratulations to Margaret Morrison, Neil Morrison, Charlie Marigold 22-13, Bob White, Mike Cox, Cliff Harris 23-14, Irene Everett, Walter Lang, Val Sherry 23-14, Enid Chapman, Sheila Cox, Colin Highland 15-9. The Trekkers did not have such a good day, away against La Marina Pathfinders, only winning on 1 rink and drawing on 1, giving them 3 points, 83 shots to 11 points, 106 shots. Well done to Sadie Hubbard, Chris Brooks, Trevor Vanner 19-12 and to Bobbie Vanner, Frank Gibbons, Colin Potter 16-16. Both the Klingons and Trekkers finished in fourth place in their leagues, so well done. The Vulcans had a close game against Lemon Tree Dambusters at Vistabella, winning on 2 rinks and gaining the overall shots. 6 points, 102 shots to 8 points, 96 shots. The shot difference was thanks to the rink of Jean Hepehi, Mavis and Tom Riley, who won 32-9. The other winning rink was Ann Badger, Jacqui Campbell, Brian Badger 17-16.
The Fed 4´s team had a superb result this week, against Emerald Isle Cluricans, taking all 8 points and winning 73 shots to 42. Congratulations Eileen Barton, Ray Robson, Trevor Vanner, Val Sherry 21-18, Bobbie Vanner, Keith Phillips, Dane Howard, Peter McEneany 25-12 and Sheila Cox, Mike Cox, Alan Barton and Mal Hughes 27-12.
After a great start to the season, we were looking forward to the Tigers joining the Lions in the A league but they did not have a good finish in the Southern League, losing to La Marina Seagulls 4 points, 94 shots to 10 points, 121 shots. Keith Phillips, Peter Bromley and Trevor Vanner won 25-11, June Whitworth, Derrick Cooper, Dave Whitworth drew 17-17 and Chris Brooks, Frank Gibbons, Bert Ewart drew 15-15. The Pumas last game ended in a draw, 7-7 against Vistabella Conquistadores and the shots were tied 88-88. A good win for Tony Campbell, Irene Everett, Brian Taylor 24-11. Margaret Roseveare, Graham Bromley, Brian Sherry won 17-10 and Pat Malden, Bill Webb, John Malden won 15-11.
The Open Forum was attended by 37 members on Thursday and went very smoothly. Don´t forget the AGM on Thursday, 29th March at 10.00 and we are still looking for 2 more committee members. (1 week left to put your name forward)
The chicken was won by Bob White after a play-off against Ciro Carranante with 22 shots. Bob Brand won the eggcup with 10 shots.
