Members had the usual Claptons feast supplied by Chris and his staff.

This month the Society was playing at the picturesque Alenda Golf. On arrival at the course the sun was shining but there was still a cold chill in the air. Most of the members wore extra layers or jackets to keep warm. The course looked to be in good condition but the tees appeared to be overused.

The greens however were in excellent condition and many found the putting difficult. This being said many of the members recorded very good scores and we managed faster rounds than normal. Some of us keeping within four hours, just. We also played the Society doubles competition. For those playing this brought a little more stress to the day but both were played in good spirit. Thanks to the staff at Alenda. We then made our way back to the Club House for the presentation to the winners. Prize winners and scores as follows:

Best Overall:  Dave Smith 39 points
Gold Winner:  Tony Stead 35 points
Gold Runner Up: Dave Pretty 34 points
Silver Winner:  Dave Johnson 33 points on c/b
Silver Runner Up: Tony Wilson 33 points
Best Front Nine: Mick O’Grady 22 points
Best Back Nine: John Stones 18 points
