LA SIESTA BOWLS REPORT

10th Feb. Well it was a very hard fought game today for the kingfishers against Greenlands Cedars. Some good bowls played with close results on some of the rinks. Our only winning team was Hilary Clarke, Pat Moore & Vic Moore (14-11) but the result ended as Shots 82-101 points 2-12 to Greenlands. Let’s hope for a better result next week.
The Hoopoes suffered a very similar fate. Only one winning rink against San Luis Lions. Well done to Barbara Cooper Steve Pond and Harry Barnby (27-17). A couple of other rinks came close.
Monday 13th. The Pioneers, playing at San Luis green, had a disastrous game against Lemon Tree Dambusters losing 2-12. Pat Baylis, Bernadette McDonnell and Mike Kelly won 26-9, our only winners, while the friendly team of Vince Laing, Sheila Millward and John Clarke managed a draw 21 all. Come on Pioneers, we can play much better than this.
On the same day the Apollos had a supreme day, winning on 5 rinks and drawing the other against Country Bowls Supernovas. Everybodys scores were unbelievably good so I cannot highlight anybody in particular. Very well done and it’s a pleasure to report.
Wednesday 15th Feb. The Winter League team were away to Benitachell. We came away nearly empty handed but had a good win with Sue Oram, Norman Murphy, Bill Jordan and George Rothwell 19-13. The Berleen team also secured a good win with Mary and John Moss, Vic Moore and Mike Kelly. Well done both teams
The Chicken and Egg latest winners are ( Chicken) Rod Land, (Wine) Jim Clarke and (Eggs) Jill Waite.
