Those seeking employment will be offered further opportunities to improve their chances thanks to another initiative from the Department of Public Works and Employment of Torrevieja’s City Council through the Local Development Agency (ADL) over the next few months through new training activities.
Carmen Gomez Candel, Delegate for Employment Development, said “with this initiative, the Local Development Agency is continuing the process they started last year in 2011, in which nearly 1,000 unemployed people attended the training activities thus extending the commitment to provide job seekers with the necessary tools for easier employment.
For this reason training activities have been selected based on the needs of the labour market, to be developed with a practical approach and directly linked to the labour situation.”
For the first months, the majority of the courses last for forty hours and are: Microsoft Word, Excel, Support for the mobility of dependents, Kitchen Food Handler Certificate (a ‘must have’ to work in the food preparation industry), Tiling, Painting (25 hours), Accounting, Electricity, Hairdressing, English and a Modular Woodwork (25 hours).
Carmen Gomez stressed that all these actions are aimed towards training 300 unemployed people. The Department of Development and Employment, through the ADL, will allocate an amount of €15,000 euros for the implementation of this training program.
To enrol in these courses interested persons must bring a photocopy of your ID and DARDO (registration document SERVEF) to the Local Development Agency, located in the Avenida de las Habaneras No. 20.
