The keenness was clear on the faces of almost 30 people came to the offices of The Leader this week, the first group of attendees who have joined us to learn one of the many subjects that are on offer by the team of our new training arm.
Although the subject is a daunting one to many, this first batch of people have taken the first steps on a road to learning all about computers and the internet with an in-depth course that looks at how computers work, what we can do with them and, ultimately, how using a computer can free your time and make it easier for you to perform some of the most mundane daily functions such as shopping, as well as communicating with the rest of the world, sharing experiences, pictures and knowledge and perhaps even seeing how computers can not only save you money, but can also help you make it.
“Computers for Everyone” is the course that started this week, which covers everything from the history of computers and how they have changed so many lives in their short 60 year history, the course covers physical parts of the computer, so you are able to identify things that might go wrong and that you can expand. Covering the developments of computer operating systems such as Windows and looking at some of the hidden secrets that allow us to use computers with ease and covering subjects such as viruses and computer security, protecting ourselves from risks and attacks and collectively sowing the seeds for the future development of everybody who attends.
The computer courses then develop into specific subjects such as writing letters and creating documents, creating spreadsheets, pictures, photography and many different aspects of using the internet, such as banking, social networking, email and communication. With modulated courses, the plan builds up over a number of weeks and allows every individual to pick and choose the modules that suit them, enabling everyone to get the best out of their computer experience.
Computers are just the first set of courses that started this week though. Very shortly, we will be offering Spanish classes. With a qualified and native Spanish speaking tutor, you will be able to find yourself immersed into the Spanish language, avoiding many of the pitfalls that some people suffer, and with the tutor being a native Spanish speaker, the lessons are based on the full, correct and real use of the language in real life situations, rather than just learning from a book or CD.
These courses are available for all levels, whether you are just starting out on your language learning journey and want to simply get by, or whether you are already able to speak at some level and would like to improve. Again, the courses develop into modules that not only offer the basic, intermediate and advanced levels of learning everyday Spanish, we also offer specific language learning for employment, such as for those looking to work in hospitality, catering or retail, a must if you are considering looking for work in the Spanish sector, perhaps in the new La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre, for example.
Spanish is only one of the languages we cover though. We also offer a range of English language courses. Again, these are for every level and circumstance there is, from improving your own English, perhaps just for self development, and also for the non English speaking community who may also want to improve their communication skills with one of the biggest expat communities here in Spain.
These are just the start, with our purpose designed training suite, we will be offering many more individual courses too, such as Public Relations, dealing with the press, customer service and care and lots more for the business community, including how computers and new technology can be harnessed by you.
Places on all courses are limited as we like to keep group sizes small. If you or your friends are interested in attending any of the sessions we are currently planning, then you are welcome to register your interest now and we will call you back and discuss your individual needs. Simply telephone us on 96 673 0057 or call into our offices in La Zenia and make your interest known and you too can join the path of development depending on your own specific needs.
