Equus Connection is an Educational Centre for Horsemanship, run by Internationally Renowned Horse Whisperer Adam Shereston and Dutch Horsemanship Trainer Danielle Visarius.
One of the actvities the centre offers, is Equine Assisted Learning and Coaching for adults, children and companies.
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Coaching is an effective and innovative approach where horses are used as assistant trainers to develop peoples emotional growth, personal awareness and to adapt certain skills.
The focus of EAL involves setting up ground activities with the horses, which will require the participants to apply certain skills. Non-verbal communication, assertiveness, creative thinking and problem-solving, leadership, work, taking responsibility, teamwork and relationships, confidence, and attitude are several examples of the tools utilized and developed by EAL.
Horses are large and powerfull and because of this often intimidating to many. Accomplishing a task involving a horse in spite of those fears, instills confidence and self-assurance which the participant can bring to other challenging situations in their lives.
The horses function as mirror. They naturally respond to the most subtle cues in our body language, intention and feel. Invisible to the human eye, but not to the horse’s sensory awareness. Horses are honest and non-judgmental. By reflecting the feelings and thoughts coming up in people, they make them aware of their non-verbal communication, their mind-set behind their actions and the effects this has on others. Once aware, people can learn how to change their behaviour, apply new patterns and skills and experience the horses different response to these. This gives the great opportunity to move forward and enjoy more fulfillment in life.
At Equus Connection, Equine Assisted Learing is offered in many ways.
There is individual coaching for adults to resolve personal challenges. Families or friends can have a fun day out, learning in a light atmosphere about coorperation and communication and children learn valuable life skills in a playfull way in the Natural Childrens Club. For companies there are several specific business training programs available.
The facilitators Adam and Danielle both have backgrounds in coaching and psychology. Adam has understanding of horse and human psychology and holds qualifications in hypnotherapy, psychology and NLP. Danielle has explored many different ways of coaching and healing with horses, is qualified in practicing shamanic techniques for meditation and mindfulness and is a certified EAGALA Equine Specialist in EAL. Together they can guide people towards a healthier and happier life.
On Sunday 22nd January 11.00-17.00 Equus Connection are organizing a demonstration day to give people an insight of EAL and their approach to Horsemanship. During this day they will show how a EAL session could look like and Adam will be giving one of his famous Horse Whispering demonstrations. The day will hold something for everyone, even for those not into horses. It is by donation only. For more information visit www.equus-connection.com or telephone 637115768.
