The Christmas mufti was played at the weekend the weather was cold and windy but we did not get any rain. It was good fun played over 3 days 17th, 18th and the semi-finals and final played on the 19th The winners were Lyn and Eric Bishop and Dave Rogers from Country Bowls and the finalists were Eileen and Eddie McLaren and Stuart Hemmings, a very good final with excellent bowling played over 12 ends on the last end the score was 15 –11 to Country Bowls, San Miguel needing 4 shots to draw and 5 shots to win, Country bowls had one wood in the head stopping San Miguel from getting the 4 needed, both skips had 3 woods to come, Stuart bowled his first wood and moved Country bowls wood giving san Miguel the 4 shots needed to draw Country bowls bowled their first wood and went through the head, Stuart bowled his second wood hoping to draw in for 5, unfortunately he moved some of the woods and left san Miguel holding 3 shots, and did not manage to draw in with his last wood. The score ended up 15-14 to Country Bowls.
