SUFC (SPAIN) VALENCIAN FF MATCHES WEEK 14

By Robbie Burns / 2011-02-06 18:58:50

CD ALONE DE GUARDAMAR 0-3 INFANTILES (U14s)
Team Sponsors:SFC (Spain) English Language Programme
Johan Montoya, Tyler Burns (Pen), Dennis Bramble

The performance of the season so far saw the Infantiles avenge an opening day defeat in style against 5th placed Alone of Guardamar. With both sides looking evenly matched during the early exchanges, Sheffield created the better chances during the first half and were unlucky not to take the lead just before the break when Dennis Bramble thundered a drive against the upright and a foraging run into the opposition´s penalty area.

The 2nd half started in similar fashion with Sheffield enjoying territorial advantage and creating further chances to score. The deadlock was eventually broken 10 minutes into the 2nd half when Johan Montoya rose highest to glance home a Dennis Bramble free-kick for a well-deserved lead.

Tyler Burns calmly doubled the lead from the penalty spot 12 minutes later after the tireless Alex was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty area. The result was cemented 8 minutes from time when captain Agustin Duhalde squared for Dennis Bramble to drill the ball past the keeper from the edge of the area for an emphatic 3-0 scoreline.

During the remaining minutes of the match, Alone pushed forward in search of some sort of consolation, but were unable to breach a seemingly impenetrable Sheffield defence who held out for a thoroughly deserved win, as well as their 1st clean-sheet of the season.  All in all, a great result from an entertaining game of football played by two decent footballing sides, officiated by a very good match official.

MIL PALMERAS   1-14 (Fourteen) ALEVINES (U12s)
Team Sponsors: Bad Boyz Motos
Maxim Markelov (3), Mark Gallagher (3), Felipe Arboleda (2), Kieran Dalzell (2), Cristian Ruiz, Ciarán Sullivan, Brad Lee, Owen Nicholas

Sadly the superb football played by Sheffield´s Alevín side and subsequent crushing scoreline and were over- shadowed by a disgraceful performance from the home side´s coach who subjected the away side´s female coach to a barrage of foul mouthed rants and threatening postures throughout a totally one-sided game.

Thankfully, the match official was on hand to witness these scenes and report his concerns to the Valencian Football Federation who will surely take a dim view of such disgusting actions by an individual representing a predominantly British side.

On the footballing front, the most comprehensive win by any Alevin league side this season was completed in style with goals from Maxim Markelov (3), Mark Gallagher (3), Felipe Arboleda (2), Kieran Dalzell (2), Cristian Ruiz, Ciarán Sullivan, Brad Lee & Owen Nicholas.  As always, despite the aforementioned antics, the SUFC (Spain) Alevínes were a credit to themselves, their parents and the club they represent – as were the Palmeras players who surely deserve so much better.

VEGA BAJA “INTERESCUELA” MATCHES – WEEK 13

BENIJOFAR    5-4 BENJAMINES (U10s)
Team Sponsors: Bad Boyz Motos
Pedro Duhalde, Charlie Sherlock (2), Charlie Hirst

A sterling effort by the Benjamines who slumped to their 1st defeat of the season away to Benijofar. In a game that ebbed and flowed, the lead changed hands no less than 4 times during a thoroughly entertaining encounter.

The measure of the team will be how they respond to what was a blow-par performance and disappointing defeat.

BIGASTRO    2-1 ALEVIN “B”
Garush Hambardimzum

A gallant effort by the Alevin “B” side who having gone ahead early on through Armenian Garush Hambardimzum, succumbed to 2 late goals.

Several SUFC (Spain) teams are still searching for quality players to enhance their squads. Limited spaces are available for the very best players. If you fancy playing football of a decent standard and think you are good enough to play for us, why not contact, Programme Director, Robbie Burns (692 507 439), e-mail robbie.burns@sufcspain.com or visit the website at www.sufcspain.com.
