Forum Golf Society played a coloured ball Team Competition at Marina on July 16th, and on a blisteringly hot day some fantastic scoring saw the standard of golf soaring as high as the temperature. A format which involved the best two stableford scores on each hole in teams of four boosted by bonus coloured ball points, with an expected "Par" score to be in the region of 120 points was won by the team of Malcolm Fenwick, Pat Leahy, Derek Marnoch & Malcolm Sibbons with an incredible 166 points !
In second place, with a score of 163 points that on any other day would have been more than enough to win were Dave Sharp, Derek Pearce, Pat Garrigan & Peter Tinsley, with Bob Vincent, Colin Waters, Clive Filkins & Andy Birch third on 138 points, just two better than fourth-placed Phil Elam, Louise Douglas, Geoff Owen & Bob Cowan.
A large field is expected for the society´s first trip of the year to La Envia on July 30th, and this is followed the week after on August 7th by our Summer Social night at The Kubatin in Arboleas, with live music from Mel Jay, a buffet meal and quiz all for just 10 euros.
