BENIDORM GOING UP IN THE WORLD

In an effort to take its image upmarket, Nearly 50 rich French tourists arrived in Benidorm on board 14 helicopters last Sunday. The town is trying to break its image as a cheap family destination, with new five star hotels and the arrival of golf tourism adding to the mix.
The town now has a new heliport which opened a year ago close to Terra Mítica and is proving to be a new access point, and on Sunday 45 French tourists arrived their for lunch in the town. They are on their way back to France from Tetuan in Morocco, but intend to find a hotel in Benidorm so they can return.
The shame of it is, Benidorm, as everyone knows, is loved for being Benidorm – why fix what isn’t broke?
