What an excellent start to our bowling week on Saturday 30th January the KLINGONS took on a new role as painters whitewashing San Miguel Comets 14 - 0 with a shot advantage of 137 - 71. it doesn’t get much better than that. The complete side of winners were Colin Highland, Derek Cooper, Keith Roberts. 24 - 12. John Haigh, Mike Smith, John Withers. 21 - 11. Ian Young, Kevin Bell, Val Sherry. 24 - 6. Pat Bird, Derek Armstrong, Mal Hughes. 24 - 7. Terry Hubble, Ken Dullaway, Peter McEneany. 19 - 14. Brian Sherry, Graham Bird, Phil Morrachan. 25 - 21.
Monday the VULCANS were at home to La Marina Asteroids losing out 9 - 5 with shots against 101 - 95. The two winners were Judy Pratt, John Pratt, George Gandy. 19 - 11. Blossom Cox (she's there again), Colin Potter, Peter Cox. 23 - 10. with the draw from John Featherstone, Hugh Moffat, Walter Oakes. 17 - 17. The KLINGONS visited GREENLANDS GREEN losing out 10 - 4 with shots 96 for and 107 against. Winners were Pat Bird, Derrick Cooper, Val Sherry. 23 - 12. John Haigh, Mike Smith, John Withers. 22 - 8.
MID WEEK TRIPS Two teams with 16 points with Pat Bird, Frank Barclay, Jim Wilson in pole position with a + 76 shots and Val Sherry, Shiela Cox, Ged Henly showing a + of 56 shots. Two teams in with a shout for third position with only 13 shots separating them. Just two more weeks for this marathon to finish.
Thursday the rain gods were out to play cancelling the Federation Fours at Emerald Isle, hopefully we can re-schedule later this month.
Friday the TIGERS visited La Marina Seagulls who produced the result winning 10 - 4 with a shot advantage of 120 - 100,our two winners were Sue Ross, Brian Taylor, Bob Brand. 27 - 14. Colin Potter, Ged Henly, Geo Gandy. 17 - 16. That was a close one. Dave Whitworths team came within three shots but the result shows why they are top of the league.
The LIONS produced the second whitewash of the week winning 14 - 0 at home to Greenlands Yellow. A superb shot advantage 148 - 66 quite significant. The winners were Pat Bird, Colin Highland, Keith Roberts. 33 - 7. Bob White, Brian Sherry, Peter McEneany. 20 - 11.Kevin Bell, Terry Hubble, John Haigh. 33 - 8. Freda Wilson, Derek Armstrong, Mal Hughes. 26 - 10. Graham Bird, Derrick Cooper, Phil Morrachan. 18 - 17. Mel Highland, Jim Wilson, Val Sherry. 18 - 13.
The PUMAS entertained our neighbours La Siesta Gold losing 10 - 4 with shots against of 106 - 92. The two winners were Pat Malden, Ken Dullaway, John Malden. 21 - 18. Maxine Wright, Mavis Riley, John Featherstone. 17 - 13.
CHICKEN DRIVE Fred was tops on Sunday with 26 points with the egg cup going to Doreen Francis on 8 points.
Tuesday's winner was Derek Waywell on 25 points with Keith Blood loving his boiled eggs with 10 points.
