Our Fed Four's league got off to a good start this week, firstly with a re-arranged match on Tuesday played at San Luis where we won all three rinks and picked up the maximum eight points, then on Wednesday we took on La Siesta at home, winning that one with two games to one and sharing the points from the long game. At San Luis Geoff Paylor, Sheila Cammack, Terry Padgett & Ken Cuthbert took no prisoners and had a terrific win of 27-12. Jenny Chaplin, Pat Patton, Dave Chaplin & Eric Bishop gained a good lead during the latter part of the game and won 24-19.

Lynne Bishop, Shirley Verity, Bruce Aitken & Brian Patton dropped six shots twice but kept positive and fought back, winning by one shot 21-20. Agg. Shots Country 72(8) - 51(0) San Luis.
The game against La Siesta went well on a couple of rinks but the third struggled to keep up with the opposition. Ann Horswell, Bryan Kirk, Maurice Horswell & Brian Patton had a good win of 23-14 and Shirley Verity, Ron Cammack, Terry Padgett & Ken Cuthbert came up with the goods by winning 21-15. Maurice Cass, Dot Davies, George Thomson & Eric Bishop lost their way during the second half of the game and were beaten 15-30, the end result of this game determined the overall shots which tallied up to a draw. Agg. Shots, Country 5(59) - 3(59) La Siesta. Well done squad, let’s hope we can keep up this form.
SABA results. The Supernovas were away to La Siesta Apollo's where they suffered heavily and only came home with two points, the winning trip was...Gillian Morris, Ron Cammack & Peter hinds who played an outstanding game, always ahead and won 31-12, well done you three, another good win. Paul Plant, Chris Darnell & Bryan Kirk almost repeated the same result as last week but unfortunately dropped three shots on the last end 17-18, a good effort. Bad luck to the rest of the side, but you will have another chance to come good! Agg. Shots, Supernovas 82(2) - 138(12) Apollo's.
Southern League results. The Ramblers played the Green team at Greenlands on Friday and won two rinks for four points. Geoff Paylor, Lynne Bishop & Eric Bishop put on some extra pressure towards the end and win 19-12. A similar game was had by our other winning team who also came back in the second nine ends, that team was Ann Horswell, Sheila Cammack & Terry Padgett won 25-18 well done. Jenny Chaplin, Bruce Aitken & Dave Chaplin lost by two shots 12-14 as did the team of Shirley Verity, Noel Verity & Ken Cuthbert 20-22. Charlie Watkins, George Thomson & Dave Rogers lost 13-18 and Pat Patton, Maurice Horswell & Brian Patton had a tough game and lost 6-23. Agg, shots, Ramblers 95(4) - 107(10) Green's.

One friendly rink was played and lost by Carol Donnellan, Chris Darnell & Ron Cammack.
Next weekend we shall be busy with our Cajamurcia open tournament, lets hope for good weather and good bowling from all our participants, but most of all...enjoy!
