STABBED MAN FIGHTS FOR HIS LIFE

A 26 year old man was fighting for his life in Elche last night after being stabbed in the neck by his former girlfriend.
As he sat on a pavement in the city during the afternoon rush blood gushed from his wound whilst waiting for the arrival of medical assistance.
The girlfriend, aged 30, cut through his jugular and neck muscle whilst she was a back seat passenger in the car of a friend, a grey Seat. The boyfriend was sat in the front as she leant over and cut through his neck without warning.
Alarmed by what was unfolding the driver pulled his car over to the side of the kerb in the city centre. He helped his friend out of the car and placed him on the pavement whilst he summoned assistance. As the blood poured out of his neck in a torrent the friend applied his jacket to the wound in the neck like a tourniquet. A passerby immediately called 112.
First on the scene were the Policia Local who arrested the perpetrator who they found to be in a state of shock. She was later charged with attempted murder.
On their arrival paramedics tried for several minutes to stabilize the wound before they moved the injured party urgently to the city hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
