TWO MORE PROSTITUTE MAFIAS BUSTED
Staff Reporter / 2010-01-12 13:37:26
Two prostitution rings operating in several brothels in Almería, Córdoba and Málaga have been busted by Spanish police. Reports filed by a number of the victims have facilitated the arrests of around 50 people.
As well as being charged with prostitution offenses, those detained by the police are also facing charges relating to public health offenses, given that the gang was also distributing narcotics, and in some cases, forcing the prostitutes working in the clubs to consume such substances. The police investigation, which began when several women reported being victims of enforced prostitution, discovered a complex business network, which had been created to cover-up the true nature of the illicit activities of one of the rings.
Among the items recovered by the police during the operation were quantities of cocaine and heroin, scales for weighing drugs and large amounts of cash.
