SUFC ACADEMY SPAIN - WEEK 7

A mixed weekend for the Blades saw the Alevines (U12s) extend their 100% start to the season to 6 straight wins, the Infantiles (U14s) denied a deserved away win courtesy of a dodgy penalty decision and the Juveniles outplay league leaders Hondon only to lose to 3 soft goals.........
SUFC ALEVINES (U12s) 14 - 0 CALLOSA DEPORTIVO

Six wins out of six for the Alevines who now sit top of the table after this scintillating performance. Against a half- decent Callosa side, Tyler Burns deservedly put the Blades ahead after 7 minutes and then added a 2nd minutes later.
A Johan Montoya penalty plus a brace from debutant striker Jorge Galdames ensured a comfortable 5-0 half-time lead. The Blades then ran away with the game in the 2nd half playing some terrific football, with the visitors demoralised and fading badly . Hat-tricks from Vlasylav Sybirov, Alejandro Ruz Langa and Jorge Galdames, plus goals from Andrew Cardenas and Johan Montoya ensured a result to match the performance. An excellent display from a Blades´ team growing in confidence and looking worthy league leaders.

SPORTING SALADAR 2 - 2 SUFC INFANTILES (U14s)

It was so nearly a 2nd straight away win for the Infantiles who had to settle for a share of the points after the home side were awarded and duly converted a controversial late penalty. Having gone behind to an early goal, the Blades levelled through striker Jose Perez. Nico Riveres then fired them in front for a 2-1 lead and what looked like being a well-deserved victory.
However, with United looking odds on to take all 3 points, Saladar were awarded what can only be described as a sympathetic penalty after nearly 7 minutes of stoppage time, which they duly converted with what was effectively the last kick of the game. A good all round display from the U14s with Sam Riley particularly influential in midfield.

SUFC JUVENILES (U19s) 0 – 3 HONDON NIEVES
A spirited display by the Juveniles against league leaders Hondon Nieves in an entertaining and well-contested game. United started the brighter and pinned the visitors back for much of the opening quarter of an hour. However, playing an adventurous 4-2-4 formation, Hondon looked lively on the counter and United had to be alert defensively on several occasions.
Alex Crocker and Bobby Galbraith looked solid in the centre of the defence, with full backs Jack Davis and Alex Kharas equally impressive against a 4- man Hondon offensive line. The breakthrough came against the run of play just before half-time when a goalkeeping fumble presented Hondon with an easy tap in for a 1-0 half-time lead. The 2nd half was pretty much all United as they tried in vain to find a way through a stubborn Hondon defence.
Kam Hoddell saw several efforts sail inches over the bar before substitute Jordan Simpson came closest, hitting the woodwork late on. The visitors sealed the win late on with 2 goals on the counter attack for a scoreline that was slightly flattering, to say the the least.

VEGABAJA LEAGUE
SUFC ALEVIN “B” (U12s/10s) 3 – 5 Benferri

Another hugely entertaining game in the Vegabaja Interescuela league for the Blades´ hybrid Alevin/Benjamin team. Having found themselves 0-3 down at the interval against strong opposition, they bounced back well in the 2nd half and made a real fight of it. A hat-trick for pint-sized striker Camilo Javier Martinez gave the enthusiastic home support something to cheer about!
