COLON CANCER DETECTION IN TORREVIEJA

Torrevieja Hospital is incorporating a plan for colon cancer detection for 2010. The plan is directed at men and women aged between 50 and 69. If this kind of cancer is detected early enough it is curable in 90% of cases. The programme will cover the whole area of Valencia Comunidad. It has already started in Sagunto, Valencia and Denia, where the level of detection has been 3.52 cases per 1,000 people tested.
