PILAR DE LA HORADADA TO HOST VALENCIAN FALCONRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Valencian Falconry championship takes place in Pilar de la Horadada this coming weekend.
Following the success of last years competition Pilar was once again chosen as the preferred venue by la Peña Cetrera El Temple and the Community Federation.
The draw will take place at 8.30 on Saturday morning. It will be followed by checking of the competitors documentation and the reading of the rules by the tournament judges after which all competitors will move on the competition venue, the road linking the town with the Villas Higuericas.
Competition will begin at 9.30 with the first set. A rabbit lunch will be served at the end of the mornings activities after which there will be controlled displays by many of the birds followed by the second race.
There will be further displays on Sunday with the prizegiving ceremony being conducted by the mayor at 1.30 pm. Last year over a thousand spectators attented the event.
Among those taking part in the competition is National Champion Antonio Gallego who hails from Murcia.
