NO BUILDING AROUND BATHS OF THE QUEEN

The Supreme Court of the Valencian Community has now handed down a decision to the effect that no new building can take place on the site of the baths of the Queen, a recently excavated area of tremendous importance for the history of Calpe.
Under the Socialist Town Council Plan of 1998, it was envisaged to build several 14-storey blocks of flats in the area - a decision termed by Mayor Ximo Tur as disastrous for the patrimony of the town.
