Torrevieja Christian Fellowship (TCF)  located at Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas 68 (old Alicante Road) Torrevieja 03183, are celebrating the arrival of a new season and a new Pastor in a special service on Sunday 24th September 2017 at the church from 10.30am followed by buffet lunch.

Pastor Chris Knight and his wife Helena took up the post on 1st July 2017 and are settling into life in Spain and life in TCF.

Chris began a career in Marketing having obtained a degree at Aston University Birmingham and worked in business for 3M United Kingdom PLC and Rank Hovis McDougall’s (RHM) now Premier Foods Plc.

Chris was ordained into the Church of England in 1996. He completed his Curacy at St Pauls Church, Banbury and then moved into Prison Chaplaincy as the Co-ordinating Chaplain for over 10 years at HMP Lowdham Grange, a Category B prison in Nottingham.  Chris’s last post was as Vicar of St Mary’s Church, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

Chris and Helena arrive from the United Kingdom as a team having worked very much together over the past years. During the time Chris was Prison Chaplain, Helena worked in the prison alongside him as a volunteer and then as an employee in the Chaplaincy department. Chris says, “We were privileged to witness the power of God in Jesus Christ change many hard hearts over those years and literally set the prisoners free”.

In November 2011, they moved from the prison to the parish where Chris became Vicar of St Mary’s Church Royal Leamington Spa. They had a royal time in this wonderful church. St Mary’s grew over the 5.5 years they were there both numerically with many families and children and in depth of the knowledge and experience of the Christian faith.

St Mary’s had strong ministries in the local community helping alcoholics, drug addicts and the homeless. Chris says, “Many people experienced the lifechanging power of Jesus Christ and were set free becoming Christians and taking their rightful place as productive citizens in the country and in the church”.

“Seasons in life change and seasons in Christian ministry change, and this is a new season for us all at TCF.”  Chris added “God has always been faithful and has blessed us in every situation. We look forward to what He has in store for the years ahead knowing that in everything, He is always good”.
