Xabia Rugby Club held a fun day at their own pitch on Saturday in celebration of the new kit for the juniors and senior teams. Our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors who have sponsored the club, Miguel Sanchez Construction, La Perla Restaurant of Javea are sponsors of the new kit, and Rabbitfx sponsors our website www.javearugbyclub.com .

There is a sense of pride in the club and the future is looking very promising, with the junior section growing from strength to strength, producing some fabulous players for the future. The club has endured very tough times since the previous President took all the kit and equipment on his departure and donated it all to another rugby club! There has been times when the senior section had to borrow kit from Denia Rugby Club to even play a game. Now we are proud to have a full kit for both sections of the club and all involved are eagerly waiting for the new season to arrive.

Last Saturday the seniors played a game against the junior section, giving the youngsters an opportunity to run and tackle hard! La Perla Restaurant of Javea, kindly produced 2 super paellas after the game which was enjoyed in the sunshine with cold drinks from the bar.

Xabia Rugby Club is searching for help with their pitch. At the moment the players are having to cut the grass with domestic lawnmowers which isn’t ideal, and the irrigation needs attention, so if anyone can help please do contact the club, it would be very much appreciated.

This coming Saturday Xabia Rugby Club welcome Combe Down from the UK. Training for both sections of the club is held on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s at our home pitch, and all players of all abilities are more than welcome.
