La Zenia hotel is pleased to announce that the well-known professional group from the UK, the West End Showstoppers, will appear at the hotel's Concert Suite on Wednesday evening, 9th November at 20.00hrs.
Their performance will be entitled, 'A Night in the West End' and will include medleys of songs from famous West End hit musicals such as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story and My Fair Lady ... and include tributes to Rodgers & Hammerstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber among many others.
The West End Showstoppers are led by local professional singer and conductor, Nigel Hopkins. He is joined by the Costa's leading soprano, Mary Beer, well-known to audiences from La Manga to Benidorm. Flying in from the UK is Matthew Hopkins, also well-known locally as leader of the professional band used in the major Melody Makers International concerts, and Director of Music at Nottingham Trent University. He has an enormous reputation for his performances in both opera and musical theatre. Making up the quartet from the UK is Jenna Percival, a professional choreographer and singer of note from Derbyshire.
Of special note are the two young local guest artistes who have been specially trained for this evening by their teacher, Nigel Hopkins, who has supplied the West End with many performers who now enjoy careers on the professional stage. The very popular Rebecca Holt is joined by Elise MacGregor, and will feature well in the programme. A pleasant surprise, and a very popular programme awaits all patrons in the comfortable setting of La Zenia hotel.
