A Fishing Trip to Cataluña part five

DAY FOUR Thursday
The river has not fished at all well again today. The boats are having just as hard a time with only one Cat of 20lb being reported and 2 Zander in the 4 to 6lb range. Members that fished the Embalse again did a great deal better with Carp up to 13lb being caught with lots in the 5 to 10lb range. The best bait seems to be 10 or 20 mil pellets. With corn taking fish mainly in the ½ to 2lb range. Today was Roys birthday and Margaret had sent up a lovely cake and bottles of Cava to help him celebrate, a good time was had by all.

DAY FIVE Friday
Most of us went back to the Embalse again today and lots of good Carp were caught in the 5 to 10lb size range with others from 10 to 14 lb and Alan having fish to 16lbs. Again the main bait that caught was pellet or pellet tipped with maggot and a few on corn and maggot. When these fish take you would think they have had 3 Shredded Wheat for breakfast as they go off like Usain Bolt out of the blocks.

DAY SIX Saturday
Most of us went back to the Embalse again today and again lots of good Carp were caught in the 6to 14 ½ lb range. I had a good days fishing with plenty of Carp from 4 to 10 lbs, and 3 over 10 lbs, the best being the 14½ lb one, but I lost an even bigger one that was too large to go into my landing net.
A party of 13 of us went to a Restaurant in Riba-Roja for a final night get together and meal, and it was a marvellous night . [ to be continued]
