During the last week of August 2011, a very special historic event took place at the Acacia Spiritual Centre, owned by Rob and Barbara McLernon at Los Molinos - near Balsicas, Murcia. This was the very first Festival of Physical Mediumship to ever take place in Spain.

There are two types of psychic mediumship in the world today. That with which most people are familiar is known as mental mediumship; this involves mediums demonstrating clairvoyance; clairaudience or clairsentience to an audience in full light, where the medium can see, hear or sense spirit communicators. They then pass on to the recipient the message they are receiving from the spirit personality. Only the medium sees, hears or senses the spirit communicator. There are well over a million mental mediums around who have developed their skills as practising mediums.

Physical mediumship is different - and VERY rare! There are just a handful of genuine physical mediums demonstrating their mediumship publicly around the globe. Séances are generally held in the dark, or in very low light, and everybody who is present can see, hear and feel everything that takes place, and interact physically with spirit voices coming from mid-air (independent direct voice) and with fully materialised spirit people who are able to walk around the room during a séance, greeting their loved ones - occasionally hugging and kissing them in an atmosphere of absolute love as they speak to them of events in their joint lives that only the recipient knows; and which provides amazing EVIDENCE of the spirit person's survival of death.

The Acacia centre was able to welcome a materialisation medium - David Thompson - from Australia to this first festival, which was built around his physical mediumship. Along with his capable partner and international clairvoyant Christine Morgan, delegates were able to enjoy three amazing séances during the week, where spirit personalities materialised fully and interacted physically with the 35 people who attended each séance.

In addition to personal meetings between delegates and their 'dead' relatives (in one case, a spirit person conversed with his relative in perfect German - a language totally unknown to the medium), a number of well-known people from the spirit world made themselves known to delegates. These included: Louis Armstrong, who sang, danced and played a harmonica for the delegates; Kenneth Williams; Quentin Crisp and - most evidential for my wife and me - Winston Churchill.

The Festival of Physical Mediumship is to become an annual event for Australian physical medium David Thompson. Next year, it is to be held later; in September. The Acacia Centre will be hosting similar events approximately every 3 months from now on. In November, there will be a 2-day workshop and séance by UK physical medium Scott Milligan. Next February, there is to be a one-week event on physical mediumship with German physical medium Kai Muegge - which will include three séances.
