TORREVIEJA TRIUMPH IN THE VIII TRAVESIA IN TORRE DE LA HORADADA

Torrevieja Swimming Club triumphed this weekend in the VIII Travesia “Puerto de la Torre” from the beach at Torre de la Horadada.
Twenty three of the clubs swimmers from all age groups 7 to 70 years worked hard and won 2nd place in the team trophy competition. This outstanding result for the club also saw individual swimmers win 7 trophies. In the 200m Pre Benjamin race for girls aged 8 and younger Amy Connolly won a bronze trophy.
Following in the 500m race Paula Garcia won a silver trophy in the girls Benjamin race, 10 and 11yrs. In the 1500m event Emma Cagigao won the bronze trophy in the girls’ Junior category the 15 and 16yrs. Continuing with these outstanding results Yuriy Lymar won the gold trophy in the boys Absolute category, 19 to 26yrs.
In the Masters competition the 1500m event saw three more trophies; Raul Tereba won gold in the male Masters II category, 47yrs and older, Vicki Connolly silver in the female Masters I category 32 to 51yrs. Finally to finish the medals Beth Altabas won gold in the female Masters II category aged 52 and older as well as the prize for the oldest competitor in the day’s event.
