John and Doreen Winners of the only race of the day 100612

Sixth Race Day of the Spring Series 2012 - On the previous Race Day of the series there was a disqualification which went to appeal. At the appeal the disqualification was rescinded and the Sailfish Sorocco was placed 11th in the second race of the day.

The Sixth and final Race Day of the Spring Series for SAMM was held on Sunday June 10th. The race took place from the CAR Sailing Centre at Los Narejos on the Mar Menor.

For this race there was a south westerly wind of 7 to 10 knots and it started at 11.30am with 11 boats participating. In the event it was the only race of the day, as the second race was cancelled due to the winds becoming too strong,

This was another exciting race with John and Doreen in their Miracle beating Roger Drew and Anne-marie Tasney in the Laser 1300 'Shoestring Cuatro' by only 42 seconds. Shoestring Tres with Vernon O'Byrne and Tug Wilson capsized and still made it to third place.
