LAS SALINAS PETANCA LEAGUE

The 3rd league dinner and presentation, was again held at Caruso’s, in Torrevieja .With over 60 present the president Stan Dibble presented the summer league division 1 cup to Lakeside/San Luis, who for the 2nd year running emerged the winners, Stan presented gold medals to Sue and Peter Mann, Elio Desideri, Wyn Surridge, and Roger Seymour. Then he congratulated Los Balcones, who won division 2 in style, and now move up into the first division. Malcolm Banger, received the cup, and winner’s medals. This rounded off a good meal, with excellent service ideal for such presentations, and for many a welcome break until September.
LOS ALTOS
The new Domino Petanca club is coming on well, with 50 members now busy preparing for the new season which starts in September. Rod Hornsey, the club secretary reports a wide interest from many nationalities, which will make up the two teams. They play on Sunday morning, Monday and Wednesday evenings’
EL RANCHO
The Pirates still play at El Rancho on Monday, and Thursday, at 5pm. This is a very active club who enjoy a good social side. With four teams in action this winter competition for places should keep everyone working hard.
LAKESIDE
They play at San Luis, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 11-45. Lakeside have two teams competing in the Las Salinas league, and will be needing new players and members.
