Monday 21st May, involved a qualifying stableford competition, for the members. The Ladies competition could not have been closer with the first three places scoring a par equalling 36 points. Using the Spanish Federation method of the lower handicap taking the higher place, the result was 1st Sandra Edwards (36), 2nd Maxine Mayhew (36) and 3rd Loraine Roberts (36).
The Gentlemens competition saw a clear winner as Peter Edwards continued his run of good form, which will see a well earned handicap reduction. 1st Peter Edwards 41 points, 2nd Frank Varey (35) and 3rd Andrew Markham (34).
Two’s winners were Bill Gill - 9th, Maxine Mayhew – 17th, Andrew Markham – 5th and Sandra Edwards – 2nd.
Thursday’s Team competition, yellow double score, best two to count, played in teams of three.
1st Jim Budd, Richard Hurn and Margaret Budd 103
2nd Brian Mayhew, Sandra Edwards and Hylton Smith 98
3rd Peter Edwards, Geoff Owen and Maxine Mayhew 98

Marina Members received news this week on the death of Alan Humphries, last Tuesday. Alan has been a long term member of The Marina Club, playing each year from September to March, before returning to the UK for the summer. He maintained a single figure handicap at Marina and won the Club Championship, earlier this year. Alan and his wife June have a great many friends at Marina, Badgers and all the league clubs in the area and will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences have been passed to June and the family.
