The sun shone, the entertainers shone, and the HAH volunteers shone; what a combination for the second fantastic HAH Rocking in Roda concert held last Sunday, 3rd June, 280 people came along to enjoy the event organised by HAH’s own Celia Ryan, who did a brilliant job.
The concert was opened by Raw Silk, the new kids on the block, Ron (keyboards) and another HAH volunteer, the Caring Service Manager, Angela Coady singing some old favourites.
Tony Lincoln compered the show, no wonder he is called Mr Entertainment! Debbie Slater, Alan Warden, Suzy G and Wardi were the other stars of the show, and soon had the crowd dancing and singing along with their energetic performances. Halfway through the concert, more HAH volunteers, who had shopped and prepared all the food, cooked and served all the guests with a fantastic barbecue.
Angela Brown, Judith Heath and Elaine Woodward, wearing Queen Elizabeth masks to celebrate jubilee day, kept their cool as they filled platters with a fantastic selection of food. Lesley Eburne, HAH founder said “ the feedback on today has been amazing, and we are so proud of the HAH volunteers who have all worked so hard helping out where needed, what a team, they are amazing and work so hard to help with these events”.
Celia thanked all the artists who give their time so freely to all local charities, and without whom these events could not take place. All in all a wonderful day, and although not all the money is in yet, over €2.000 was raised enabling HAH to continue their valuable FREE care to those in the community with medical advice. Led by HAH clinical lead Lynda Christopher the care team, who have to date, helped over 400 clients.
