On Exite Radio, we always try to move with the times and deliver the quality content that you want on your radio. With the most successful and popular English language newspaper on the Costa Blanca, The Leader, firmly behind the content, it is only natural that we are forefront in being able to tell you everything that´s going on around the world, as it happens.
That is why, throughout the day, not only do we bring you the latest news updates from your favourite UK providers, but we also provide things like our exclusive Health Check, where at least every couple of hours we tell you how the weather conditions might affect those sufferers of conditions such as hay fever, asthma, migraine and sinus problems, as well as those with cardiac health and arthritic conditions, plus more besides, so you are able to plan your daily activities around your own comfort and health needs.
We also bring you a range of forecasts, for those who simply want to know whether to wear a hat or a coat, to wind reports for sailors, wave conditions for surfers and humidity checks that benefit a lot of people who work and play in the outdoors.
We know that news is also important, that is why, on the breakfast show, we start the day by going through not only what´s happened locally, but also the UK headlines, news from across Europe and the world and we check out the front pages of both the UK and Spanish daily papers, so you always know what the hot topics of the day will be.
Keeping you moving is also important, especially if you´re out and about, going to school or work, or just setting off for the market, so we also bring you live traffic reports from across the region and beyond, as well as news that nay effect your long term driving plans, and keep a close eye on flights into and out of the airports that serve our area.
As the day progresses, we turn our attentions to events that are taking place on the day and in the future, to help you plan a day out, weekend away, or just an escape from the routine with news on cultural events, bands, exhibitions and a choice from our charity and community boards.
We have always had our roots firmly fixed in the community and that is where we intend to stay, supporting those who support us and bringing you up to date with everything you could possibly want to know. Plus, with regular contributions from experts like former professional footballer Roy Donough, political updates from Stefan Pokroppa, health and diabetes updates with Mike Young from diabetesinspain.com, regular chats with members of the community, business, politics and more, and not forgetting the animal lovers who are catered for by the likes of expert dog trainer Angela Holt and reptile expert Yvonne Robinson.
Last week alone we had politics with Stefan, reptiles with Yvonne, updates from Pedro Mancebo from the Orihuela council and 60´s pop icon Ricky Valance, talking about the BBC documentary that has been following him around, covering his life story. Next week, Stefan will be back again, as will Mike, talking about changes to the Spanish health system, and Angela, talking about training our dogs, plus we will be talking more about the Greenland´s wedding event that´s happening soon.
Most of the chats are available on line at www.exiteradio.com, under the Podcasts section, if you want to listen to them again, as are some of our other shows such as the Superior Rhythm Soul show with Deano, to name but one.
With the most knowledgeable presenters, most up to date news and weather and brining the community to you, all of these things come together to make Exite Radio what it is today, music, information, chat and more, from the professionals. So, if you want to be kept up to date, make sure that your radio is tuned to 89.2fm on the Orihuela Costa, or 93.1fm on the Costa Blanca, and you can always listen on line or via your smart phone, all of the links being available on the website, www.exiteradio.com.
But it doesn´t stop there, because, as it said at the start of this article, we are ever changing, and will always adapt to bring you what you want. So, if there´s something we´re missing, or something you would like us to cover, then drop us an email to studio@exiteradio.com, or pop into The Leader offices in La Zenia and have a chat or just scribble down a note and hand it in.
Radio for you, that´s our new motto, one that we will stick with to ensure we are always adapting to serve YOU.
