THIS WEEK ON EXITE BREAKFAST

We have a busy week ahead of us, not least the build up to Easter and the general strike in Spain on the 29th, but there will be a major debate that could change the future of the government of Orihuela. So, on the breakfast show on Exite Radio, these are a few of the things Mark Nolan will be talking about and he welcomes any comments you might wish to make and any questions for the guests.
On Monday morning, Mark will be chatting to Pedro Mancebo, the councillor for tourism and beaches. You might already know of some of the problems associated with Pedro Mancebo expelling Bob Houliston from their coalition, and if you were listening recently, you will know that this was a calculated move to prevent Bob Houliston from siding with the Partido Popular and Monica Lorente, the former mayor.
But, late last week, a statement was issued which says, “Monica Lorente wanted to make clear her intention to reach an agreement with Councilman Bob Houliston, that would eventually and inevitably lead to the government of the municipality of Orihuela.” We will be chatting with Stefan Pokroppa on Wednesday morning, a former figurehead of the Partido Popular during their previous administration.
Now, this weekend, Bob Houliston issued a statement on behalf of CLARO, which you can read in full in The Leader, and on the website, www.theleader.info, an extract of which says, “The Popular Party of Orihuela has presented a Motion… which rejects the Mayor’s decree abolishing the post of Councillor for Orihuela Costa… and C.L.A.R.O. will respond positively to the Popular Party’s initiative and is in principle ready to vote for this Motion.” So, we will hear from the man himself, Bob Houliston, on Thursday morning, before this meeting takes place and find out what this really means before the closed door discussions take place.
So you see, this is going to be one of the most important weeks in the future of the municipality of Orihuela and the residents of the coast.
But, if that´s not enough, Mark will also be talking to animal behaviour expert Angela Holt on Thursday, getting to grips with how we can get our dogs to behave and get them trained, as well as answering your questions and solving your animal behaviour problems, so send your questions and Mark will try and find you the answers from Angela.
Not forgetting, talking sport with former professional footballer and manager Roy McDonough, Red Card Roy, on Monday and Friday and our usual catch up with the headlines every day, traffic and travel updates, entertainment, business and money news, plus the low-down on the retail outlook and everything else for life in Spain.
So, join Mark Nolan every weekday on Exite Radio, from 08:00 until 12:00, on 89.2fm on the Orihuela Costa, 93.1fm on the Costa Blanca and listen live from the website, www.exiteradio.com, from anywhere in the world.
