CABO DE GATA GETS NEW DRAINS

Councillor of Public Works oversees the progress of improvement works and stormwater drainage system of Cabo de Gata. This action has a budget of more than two million euros and aims to prevent further flooding occurring
The improvement works to the stormwater drainage system in Cabo de Gata, carried out by the company Aqualia, and an initiative of the Department of Almeria’s Public Works department, is making good progress, according to Councillor Francisco Amizián who made the comment during a recent visit to the neighborhood accompanied by the Councillor for Sports and Youth, Juan José Alonso.
He said that the work has an investment of more than two million euros, is financed by the Plan E II, and once completed, will provide this district with the necessary infrastructure to prevent stormwater flooding through the streets during periods of torrential rain.
The implementation of these works was in response to a request from the residents of the neighborhood as a result of the problems posed by flooded streets. Amizián said that city leaders haddecided to end the suffering caused by the consequences of flooding.
He said “We are delighted to contribute to the improvement of infrastructure of Cabo de Gata , where we are cimplementing a number of investments that seek to improve the quality of life of the residents who live here throughout the year and also those who visit during the summer and other holiday periods of the year.”
