My name is Paul Nathan, a fully qualified instructor for the International Academy of Zheng Dao Lo, translated 'Venerable True Path'.
Over many years of studying and teaching Tai Chi I have seen how Tai Chi has attracted adults of all ages from different walks of life. Those who stay with the practice, enjoy the training and the challenge of the training, each challenge helping to develop Mind, Body and Spirit, taking the development of the individual to a higher level.
The 'beginner students' first challenge is not only learning new forms, but how to move dif¬ferently with grace and elegance. If the body is tense, movement is restricted and becomes weak. If the body is relaxed movement is flowing and becomes strong.
Tai Chi is not only about 'physical Exercises', emphasis should also be made on 'Mental Exercise' to build one's level of concentration during practice. Tai Chi is one of the most beneficial and enjoyable ways of balancing mind, body and spirit. The soft flowing movements help circulate (Chi), the energy within our bodies, which will help to make the body more relaxed, supple and healthy.
Tai Chi is a healing art, which deals with energy development (Chi) flowing around the internal energy centres or meridians. It is initially practiced to relax the mind and body, improving confidence, delaying ageing, relieving stress and promoting mental and physi¬cal harmony. There are also other health benefits that the various routines could help with. They are Asthma, Bronchitis, Type 2 Diabetes, strengthen the Immune System and help Co-ordination, Posture and Balance.
Exercises are broken down into three sections, various warm-ups, meditations and Tai Chi Yang style forms, which are popular in the western society.
So come along and enjoy this ancient art in a sociable and relaxed atmosphere. Classes are starting at OK Gym, Commercial Centre Los Dolses, Villamartin, Orihuela Costa (Above Super Valu Supermarket) on Monday 26th January 11.45 - 12.45pm and Friday 30th January 11.30 - 12.30pm.
